I had to improvise on a couple of ingredients, but it came out superbly. Even popped right out of the baking pan. My son loved it and gave it a huge two thumbs up, too! *grin*
I also did some major organizing in my office today--had a huge burst of energy. I think it was a combination of taking B-12 vitamins and a new guided meditation recording I listened to. More about that in a later post. Anyhow, I got rid of a few books and organized one of the shelving units I confiscated from my hubby. I think it's looking pretty good!
I even have a place to put all our board games in the bottom cupboard.
Lining that last shelf we have: a puzzle of Canada, Scrabble, Scrabble Slam, Yahtzee, and Rammy-O! And on the books, I'll list a few: Breaking Dawn, The Shack, Animal-Speak, Wuthering Heights, The Hobbit, and Narrow Road to the Interior.
What about you? What books and other things line your shelves? Care to share?
Banana bread is one of my favorites to make. I like using a potato masher on the bananas, just because it's fun! Your loaf looks splendid! And I love your sunshine plate, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI take B-12, too. Isn't amazing what that tiny little tablet can do for your energy? It's good for circulation, too. Wonderful stuff.
Your new shelf looks great! I love the alternating vertical and horizontal books; that's a cool effect.
My shelves are just about overflowing with books. And most shelves seem to have little things sitting in front of the books, too, like layers in a shadow box. They're kind of themed ... a little plush dragon with my fantasy books, a toy snitch on the Harry Potter shelf, a few of my favorite old toys with my favorite books from when I was a kid.
Animal-Speak sounds like a good books, what's that about? And I have a copy of The Hobbit, too! It was always my favorite Tolkien book. Have you had a chance to see the new movie?
Hey, Mary! Yes, it is amazing what that little B-12 can do for your energy--I don't take it every day, but I should. I also love the idea of adding themed items on your book shelves!
DeleteAnimal-Speak is a book about animal totems/guides. It was written by Ted Andrews. A very interesting read and part of the book lists all different animals and explains what they symbolize and what their appearance in your life might mean.
Oh, and no on The Hobbit movie. I don't know why, but I wasn't interested in seeing it. I think I had my fill of that world after seeing all of the Lord of the Ring movies, although it was so long ago that I hardly remember them...lol. I'll probably watch the Hobbit when it comes out on DVD though--have you seen it?
I love animal symbolism! I find it really interesting to see how an animal's traits and characteristics translate into symbolic meaning.
DeleteI did see the Hobbit movie, and really enjoyed it. It's a lot lighter and more fun than the other Lord of the Rings movies. More of an adventure story, and not so tense and dire. Plus, there is a wizard with a rabbit-drawn sled! How great is that? ;)
Ah, good to know!!! The Hobbit book was actually the only I read. I tried reading The Lord of the Rings several times, but couldn't get through them.
DeleteMmmm...banana bread is wonderful on a cold morning. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your meditation.
ReplyDeleteHi, Maripat! And yes, on banana bread being nice on cold mornings. My son was not impressed that his dad took the last piece. He had told him to save him a piece, but my hubby did not realize that he hadn't eaten it yet...lol.
DeleteI ended up making a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip muffins, and my son was very happy about that. Hubby is away this week so we had the batch all to ourselves. I think there is only one left. ;)
I'm really enjoying my guided meditations--will post about it once I've been listening to it a bit longer. :)
